Planning and Funding Minimize

Riders at sunsetWe believe that West Virginia is a premier cycling destination.  It offers so much for so many different types of cycling.  We want everyone else to know what a great destination it is as well, which is why one of our stated goals is to support cycling events and programs.

We show our support in two ways:

1).  by planning and managing the events/programs ourselves or

2).  by providing grant funding to those who support the same goals.

Take a look at what we are doing.  We are excited about the changes these programs are bringing to West Virginia.  Please feel free to ask any questions and provide any comments.  We look forward to hearing from you.

Statewide advocacy group? Minimize

West Virginia has many wonderful cycling resources but one thing it does not have is a statewide advocacy group dedicated to promoting all types of cycling in West Virginia.

There has been a lot of interest in forming such a group.  We want to support this movement and help it find its natural home.  We have committed a few of our resources to help this movement organize.

The League of American Bicyclist and Thunderhead Alliance came to Charleston, WV on April 17 -18, 2009 to help us with this movement!  We moved from being rated 50th in regards to be friendly to cyclists to 42nd after 6 months or organization.  Powerful people WV cyclists are!
